Jesús Javier
Resume

Jesús Javier currently serves as news anchor for KRCA-TV, Channel 62, the flagship station of an up and coming Spanish-language television and radio network based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Prior to joining Liberman Broadcasting, Inc. Mr. Javier performed from 1993 to 2000 as news anchor for Univision's KMEX-TV, Channel 34, the nation's number one Spanish-language television station. From 1989-1993, Jesús Javier was the 6:00p.m. and 11:00p.m. news anchor at Telemundo's KVEA-TV, Channel 52.

Prior to his arrival in Southern California, Javier had already established himself as head of the news department at Univision's San Antonio affiliate, KWEX-TV bringing with him all the benefits of his experiences both as anchor and general assignment reporter at KPIX-TV, the CBS affiliate in San Francisco and as news anchor for KDTV, Channel 14, the Univision affiliate in San Francisco.

With his extensive experience both as a news anchor and reporter (both local and national), his high visibility in the latino community, and his fluency in both English and Spanish, Mr. Javier has created a name-face-voice recognition that spans not only nationally, but internationally as well.

In 1997, Jesús Javier received a Golden Mic Award from the Radio & TV News Association of Southern California for his series, "Infierno Bajo Cero", a special investigation on the false promises of high wages and abundant jobs that lure many Latinos to Alaska. In 1984, he won a silver medal at the New York International Film and Television Festival for Best Documentary with "De Leyes y Papeles." In addition, Jesús Javier anchored "Destino '90", which won an Emmy Award for Best Public Service Special.

A native of Techaluta, Jalisco, México, Javier studied electrical engineering at University of California at Berkeley, before starting his journalistic career.
