Gabriela Tessier Resume
Born in Mexico City, Tessier comes from a family tied to the journalism and artistic world. Her father, Ernesto Julio Tessier, is a political analyst journalist in Mexico and she is also the niece of the musicians "Hermanos Zavala" on her mother's side of the family.
At the tender age of a year and a half, Teisseir began appearing on stage. Due to her association with the entertainment industry, she nourished from the greatest teacher of Mexico. Teachers like Julio Castillo and Juan Jose Gurrola.
Years later, Teissier became a model and created a solid foundation that helped her in numerous publicity campaigns and commercials. Nevertheless, Teisseir points out, "People should not contemplate a woman for her beauty, but for her intelligence."
In 1995 she moved to Telerey, Mexico where she anchored the national and international news on CEMX. Parallel to her journalism carrer, Teissier prepared herself as a background vocalist singer with some of the most famous Latin singers like Luis Miguel, Cristian Castro and Guadalupe Pineda. In addition, Teissier was also the official spokesperson for Playtex in Mexico and the host for the introduction of MCI/Advantel.
Her aspirations have always been tied to work in the world of television and in the journalism arena. For three years, Teissier worked for the Spanish-language television network TV Azteca in Mexico City. This is where producer Ruben Galindo offered her a part in the soap opera "Al Norte del Corazón"
Soon after, Teissier relocate to Miami, Florida wher she co-hosted and reported special feature stories on "Edición Especial", Telemundo's national and international news magazine program. In 1997, this led her to accept another offer in Los Angeles at KVEA-TV, Channel 52 as entertainment anchor for "Noticiero Telemundo 52."
Her awards include: an Emmy in 1997 for "Best Light Feature Story," two Golden Mike Awards for "Best Entertainment Reporting" in 1997 and 1998, and a Golden Mike Award for "Best Editing in a Feature Story" in 1998.
Teissier is also actively involved in numerous charity events: the Housing Authority of the city of Los Angeles, Annual Talent Show Competition, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) Political Action Committee, American Cancer Society's Hispanic "Smoke-Out" event, "Viva el Mariachi," an anuual mariachi concert staring the world's greatest Mariachi Sol de Mexico of Jose Hernandez, the Beverly Hills Civic Association and Chamber of Commerce "Paloma" Awards, and most recently, the Spanish-language motion film Tarzan, as the voice of the character "Terk".
Teissier received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and in Graphics Design from the University of Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
